The initial installation of DotNetNuke can be configured so that when you upload and initiate the installation, all of your preferred settings, modules, and skins are automatically installed.
This can be a massive time saving device.
Options can include setting up the:
- Host Menu / Site Settings
- Admin Menu / Portal Site Settings
- Parent / Child Portals
- Automatically installing 3rd party modules, skins and containers, private assemblies and language packs
- Pre-configure the Host and Admin account username, password, email, first and last name for higher security
Further options can also include creating a default series of pages which are automatically installed with DotNetNuke.
Why pre-configure DotNetNuke?
First consider how long did it take you to set up DotNetNuke on your localhost installation until you were satisfied with all of the settings?
You can transfer across these settings for any further DotNetNuke installations you create.
This can save you hours of set up time.
How do we pre-configure the DotNetNuke Settings?
