Hi,
This is my first DotNetNuke website, actually it is my first website of any sort come to think of it
As far as the look and feel is concerned, I was given a .jpg image by a "Designer" that I had to "convert" into a DNN Skin. (My very first skin btw.)
Personally the design and colours don't blow my hair back, but the simplicity and clean look did grow on me after a while
Anyway, please check it out, and don't hold back with your critisism either, I'm a big boy, I can handle it.

And, without making any comments on your site, which I just glanced at ... here is a nice little book about designing web site: "Don't Make Me Think" by Steve Krug.

Hello,
The first thing I looked at was the square colours - do those pop up texts link to anything? - In firefox it flickers and I can't hover over the grey boxes that pop up.
The DNN-Blue menu I would try to style it to fit in with the style of your skin a bit more, something simple such as changing the blue colour to match the colour of your right pane may work.
From the home page it doesn't really inform what your site is about without exploring through the menus, think you could improve the content on the home page to entice users into viewing the content of the site. - It may not help that I can't view the info coming off the coloured squares.
- Well there's a quick comment for you, thanks,
Lee Sykes

Hi,
yes, the square blocks have pop up text that explains the different categories, and they are supposed to link to the corresponding pages.
I'm taking your advice, and the advice in the book mentioned in the previous post, and are in the process of re-designing the home page. That's the good thing about having other people look at your site, obviously everything makes sence to me, but that's cause i made it, having an outsider look at it highlights these porblems.
I will post again when my homepage is re-designed

To get your content to centre properly I'd try applying "margin:0 auto;" to the body. If that doesnt work, "text-align:center;" forces it to centre in IE.
Otherwise the elastic centering you are currently using causes the site to be off-centre and even require horizontal scrolling for smaller horizontal monitor resolutions. As for minimum sizing, some people say 800px but quite frankly I'd aim for a minimum of 1024px wide (which results in a body of about 950px if you want to see a thin strip of background).
Well done and keep up the good work!!
Sites I made thanks to DNNCreative vids!
