Through the Host menu you can change the wording that sits at the very top of the browswer window, just above the address bar.
My problem is that at the end it says: (DNN 2.1.2) I don't want the DNN "2.1.2" there. Can anyone tell me how to get it off. I know basic HTML and could go into the right folder and file and delete the code if someone told me what file to look in.
Also.. I would like to change the little icon that is in front of URL in the address bar to my own logo. Any info on this would be great also.
Thanks,
Mark

Hello,
You can also set the Page Title from the admin / site settings so check that.
For each page you can set a different title using the page settings, this will override everything in the admin / site settings and host / site settings.
It is better for the search engines to specify a title for each of your pages as you can target certain keywords rather than let DNN make a title for you.
For the icon, look in your main DNN folder for the favicon file - you can delete the file to remove the icon in the address bar, or you can replace it with your own icon.
Thanks,

Hi Lee,
I don't think you understood my question. No where in the Admin or Host Settings does it show DNN 2.1.2 in any of the text entry fields. It shows where I typed in my wording for the browser wording but somehow it keeps adding "DNN 2.1.2" after my text even though I have not typed it in. The system must somehow be adding it to my wording. Any ideas on how to edit this?

Go to a page and select the settings for the page.
In the page title, enter the title you wish, this should override the settings coming from the Host / Admin sections.

Hey Lee,
One more question about changing the icon in the address bar. When I delete the icon file from my directory, how do I replace it with another icon? Do I simply create a little icon in photoshop and save it as a .icon file instead of a jpg? Then i guess i would just upload the icon into the right directory. Is this correct? Also, what are the dimensions of the standard icon in the address bar?
Thanks,
Mark

The dimensions of the icon on DNN is 16x16 pixels. - I don't know if you can use photoshop to create .ico files. - I seem to recall there are free programmes for creating icon files around if you do a search on Google.

Hello,
Have you tried putting the favicon directly in your portal folder ie:
websitename/Portals/0/
Also, it may just need time for the cache to clear in the browser until it will display - also try ctrl+F5 to refresh the page
Thanks,
