I'm currently looking at a re-design of the site, in particular a better navigation method for quick access to the website.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how they would find it easier to navigate around the site?

I need to re-organise the navigation because as more tutorials are added it is going to become very confusing to navigate around the menus.

My current idea is to have a main heading menu at the top, probably using the same categories as the current menu, but with no sub menus.

Then on the left hand side of the page it will display the sub-menu categories.

On the main tutorials page it will display a list of titles of every single tutorial we have created, grouped into category, ie: skinning, core modules etc.

Then if you click on a sub-menu item on the left hand side it will display the list of tutorials in that category but with the descriptions, as you can see on this page: (Skinning category) http://www.dnncreative.com/Tutorial...fault.aspx

I think this will be the easiest way to quickly view which tutorials are available, does anyone have any other suggestions?

I was going to post a comment about the forum's.
The search, profile links at the upper right are hard to spot (light color),
Also there really isn't anyway to identify, what the hot topics are, probably missing those someplace then huh?

The forum's definately need EDIT... so i had to start a new post, it's not uncommon for me to notice something and post again immediately.
What the site really needs per issue is a cover design, in keeping with the magzine theme.
Photoshop anyone...???

You should now have an edit button available in the forum. I've now changed the tutorials page as well, and removed the menu for the tutorial section.

This makes all of the pages lighter in code as the bulk of the menu has been removed and hopefully it is easier to see at a glance what tutorials are available.

Let me know what you think, if anything is confusing etc.

ok, I've changed the links colours as well and also added latest posts to the bottom of the forum, thanks for the feedback.

Maybe my monitor settings are way, way too wide but the blue-fade-to-silver bar that contains the Login/Logout looks like this on my monitor:

Thanks for the info. I actually want to do a complete re-design of the entire skin which implements all of the information I've provided in the tutorials and create a CSS skin.

The problem is free time to do it! - I end up working flat out creating tutorials with no spare time left to design the new skin. - I will think about the forum when I look at the new skin.

So, if there is anything that would make the site easier to use then now is the time to let me know, thanks,

Could you make the cookie lifetime longer. The way I work, it seems like I am logging into the site every time I change a page.

Thanks, I stay logged in for at least 30-60mins without problems, if I am regularly adding content to the site and actively viewing pages it is very rare that I have to re-login. Does anyone else have this problem?

Yep ... I think that you've got it set to the default 30 or 60 minutes ...
