Thanks - for the reply here are the things I did - the DNN installation is 4.5.3I log in as host - I go to the "admin" menu I click "user accounts" and then click "Manage user profiles"I then make several fiels "required" (FirstName, Lastname, Address, et)I go back to the "admin" menu click "user accounts" then click "user settings" i place a check mark in "require a valid profile for login" and place a check mark in the "require a valid profile for registration"Then I log out and log in - It says please "Please update your profile before continuing" and the update icon is at the bottom of the page - however no fields are visiable. So I can't update the profile thus I have locked myself out.So What I believe I did wrong is I must have unchecked the "visiable" box on all the fields when I was flying through it the other night - I guess what I would need to do then according to your post is to open the DB and make the fields visiable again. Unfortunatly I'm new to dnn, I really enjoy it but am not an SQL guy, I see the DB and can get to it from the host side - what program would I use to open it and what do you think the visibility field is named? Thanks again for your help
thanks, that did the trick - I email my hosting company your reply and they actually did it for me thats was great!!! I totaly appreciate your insight and it totally makes sense now
