Has anyone written or know of some examples of Standard Operating Procedures for using DNN for web content procedures?
Or if they have some web or Software example they can share. I have been searching and haven't found many.
Thank,
DQ

I'm not quite sure what you want. Could you explain a bit more?

Basically a SOP is written steps detailing steps for uers or customers logging in, updating content, uploading in DNN.. It really helps to document a process.. i.e. - new employees learn what they need to do because the steps are documented.. Also, it's a reference written which would be related to the specific system they work.. The DNN maual are great but they don't relate to differnet systems out there..

I understand that. What I need to know is how you and your organization need to operate your website. That will have a great bearing on what is "standard" for your organization.

They are running the website through server in another area associated with our site. So I'm assuming the best way to write a standard (SOP) is how it is going to be operated?

OK.
Start with basic maintenance procedures:
- Backups of both the database and web directory
- Maintenance of the database
- Site monitoring for proper operation
Upgrades:
- How often to upgrade
- How to do the upgrade: offline or live
Site development and content management:
- Will you have a dev site?
- How to keep the dev site in sync with the live site
- How to create new content, test it, and deploy it to the live site
- Who will be responsible for various activities -- security roles, permissions, etc.
- Will you use workflow? How to manage it
-------
Personal roles and responsibilities are often the biggest thing, so define those carefully.
Make your SOP a living document, review it, update it and USE it. Make sure that someone is in charge of the SOP.
