Are there any step by step tutorials on how to Create and or Develop a Module for DNN 5.x as well? The DNN 6x tutorials are fine but we really want to create our own modules using DNN 5.x until our client base feels more comfortable with DNN 6.x

I know i may seem like i'm behind the times, but due to our business requirements and our client base... we have many clients not wanting to migrate to DNN 6.x at this specific time.... and because of this we're still developing modules for DNN 5.x with ability to upgrade if and when our client base is finally comfortable with DNN 6.x

Thanks for understanding my situation and let me know what i can find to help create a simple module in DNN 5.x before we tackle DNN 6.x

There are almost no differences between writing modules for V6.x versus V5.x. In fact pretty much every module written for the later versions of 5.x work just fine in 6.x.

The main differences are in the classes and methods in the DotNetNuke framework. But, if you stick to "standard" methods, you won't even see that.

My recommendation is to follow the available tutorials. Andy's current tutorial is well worth watching. So is the module development series that Chris Hammond has done at DotNetNuke.com.

If you are serious, Mitchel Sellers' book is a must.
