I exported my portal 0, with content which has skin and various modules. I created a new module, with this new template but it didn't import completely and looks like it failed on creating the menu (although the new Admin user was made and linked to the usual roles). In the SQL tabs table, the admin tabs are missing but many of the other module menu records are there.
Is it possible to "send" these again from portal 0 to portal x? I really don't want to try to create another portal if possible with all the rest in there.
Thanks very much,
Jo

Which version of DotNEtNuke are you using?
I assume you meant to say that you created a new Portal with the exported template. Can you tell how or where it failed?
The admin tabs should be present for each PortalId. THe Host tabs are not repeated for each portal and show up in the tabs table with PortalId=NULL.

Joe,
I'm having a similar issue with the admin tabs going missing on newly created and imported portals. Ours seem to be failing during the site wizard process. We create new portals using the default template and then login with that new portals admin and use the site wizard importing the exported portal.
I have a funny feeling it's during the 'ignore / replace / merge' option, but even so, they should still be there.
Bottom line is there a way to reimport ONLY the admin interface into a portal (maybe using the 'replace') option?
Any help would be appreciated, we have 3 portals where the entire admin menu didn't copy over. In some cases it only has 'new page' as an option and in others it has 1/2 the options.
Again thanks for all the assistance and general resources here, you guys have saved me alot already.
thanks, ben

My memory is that this was an issue in that version of DotNetNuke. Fixing the menus requires editing the database.
First, though, you should upgrade at least to 5.6.2.
If you could give me access to your site, I can take a look and verify that the problem I am remembering is the one that you are experiencing. If you want to do that, contact me privately using the Contact form at patapscorg.com.
