Hi,

Can i synchronize the data(transfer the data) from dotnet nuke application to the ms sql server database which is connected to asp.net application.

The data from table1 in dotnetuke database must be transferred to table1 in ms sql server database (which is being used by the asp.net application)


Can the above process be possible ?

Please post your comments on this. If possible please explain this with an example.

Yes. This is possible. And, there are tools available to do this.

However, if you want to simplify things and do things according to "best practices" you should not try to keep the two databases synchronized. Instead, why not have your asp.net application read data from the DotNetNuke database when it is needed. I would not recommend writing to the DotNetNuke database from the external application.

Perhaps if you could explain your need for the DotNetNuke data, it will be easier to make a suggestion.

my requirement is to read the data of one table of dnn application which you told is easy and secure. But the problem is i dont have the location of the db file. when i saw the connection string of dnn application, i got this connection string



But if you see this connection string in datasource is coming as .\SQLExpress. so i have a doubt like if i use this connection string to read the data from table yhen will it work or not.
so what is the solution for this because to read the data i need the connection string.
Plz reply asap.

I'm not sure that I understand. You have the connection string. Why are you not able to use it?
