It looks like you haven't given "unauthenticated users" the ability to post messages. I can, though, read messages. And, your Register link isn't working. So, there's no way to register so I can't create and account to login and see if I can post messages that way.

That probably means that you have the Login page specified incorrectly. Go to Site Settings, open the Advanced Settings section and set the Login page to "none specified." That will set it to the default login/registration page.

This has happened to me in the past. Go to Admin > Site Settings and expand Advanced Settings. Check that Registration Page is set to None Specified . I'm asuming you haven't created a custom Registration page, if you have then point it to that page.

Thanks for your help; that is exactly what was needed. All my sites have simply accepted the default selection for the Registration page: "User Profile" and have always gone to the registration page; and now all of them are broken and have to be changed to "None Selected" as you say. I guess some recent upgrade broke the previous default "User Profile" selection for the Registration page. Does that interpretation seem right to you?

I guess I spoke too soon. Yes we get the Registration page, but when submitted we get the error: An error has occurred. Error: User Registration is currently unavailable.

Take a look at the Event Log and see if there is more information available there. Also, which version of DotNetNuke are you using? Is this a site that has been running, or is it a new installation?

I tried it out of curiosity and although you get the error you stated, the registration has completed as I could log in. I remember getting this error myself at one stage. I'm not sure (it was a while ago) but I think it was due to not having set the host email address under Host > Host Settings. Worth checking.

Yes, that will result in an error. That will be clear if you look at the Event Log.
