Upgrade from 4.9.4

I am running 4.9.4 is there any recommended process to upgrade to the newest version is there multipule upgrades I must do before upgrading to the newest version. Thanks for any info.

I would recommend that you make good backups, install a copy on another computer, and try doing the upgrade there. When you are successful, you can copy the upgraded site and move it to your live site. I would try the direct upgrade to 5.5.1 first. If that doesn't work, upgrade to 4.9.5, and then try the direct upgrade from there. If neither of those work, ask again. There were some issues with early 5.x versions, so I'm not sure that you should try upgrading to those versions. But, if you run into trouble, I will do some research on these issues.

If it's your first time upgrading then I would recommend watching: How to Upgrade DotNetNuke (Auto Merge Method) (v4.6.2 to v5+) That method applies to all version from v4.62 upwards An even easier method is: How to use Papayas Auto Upgrade for DotNetNuke But again, as Joe suggests I would test this out by creating a backup of your live website and then installing it ona local computer to test out the backup process.
