I recently changed a websites domain name from "www.salmovillage.ca" to "www.salmo.ca" and within an hour of the former domain expiring it was picked up by some porn outfit and now "www.salmovillage.ca" is a porn site Since searches for Salmo, BC still give this URL in the results many people are getting sent to the porn site when searching for our village, including childrem sadly. IS there any way to get the link removed from search engines? Or at least removed from searches for Salmo? I have searched Googles site for contact information to no avail. Considering they are the largest provider of digital information on the planet you would think you could find a way to contact them digitally! I found their snail mail address but want this resolved immediately. We have had many complaints already and considering children are being sent to a porn site you would think Google would stop this ASAP. Any suggestions would be most grateful Monte

I'm not seeing that. What I see is that a search for salmovillage.ca returns a "not found" message from Google.

Wow, I am pleased to say that I finally did find a form to fill out on Google and complained about the adult content and presto! all references to salmovillage.ca are gone! Even when you search for Salmo, BC the references are not there any longer.

That was certainly fast, I did this last night after I posted here so it only took a few hours. I am glad they are on top of this nonsense.

Now, lesson learned. Keep old domain names for a few months until it disappears from the search rankings!

If you keep the old domain for a while, you can redirect it to the new domain.  This will help people who are used to the old URL.
