Hi I have a live DNN 5 installation that is working fine in Firefox, however when i view the website in IE8 some of the HTML text modules are not displayed even though the permissions are set to display to all users, the problem seems to be intermittent as sometimes the content will appear after refreshing the browser or moving to another are of the website. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this could be happening in IE8 only?
Kind Regards
Liam

Which version of DotNetNuke?
Are you using a custom skin or containers? If so, revert to Minimal Extropy and see if the problem disappears.
Try viewing the site in "compatibility" mode by clicking the button in IE8.

Hi thanks for the reply, im using a custom skin with containers (Kinetics Skin purchased from snow covered). I think the version is 5.2 but will need to double check when i get home from work. When i switch to compatibilty view sure enough the containers display, i cant understand why this is only happening with some pages but not others using the same skin. Can you offer any further advice please? Kind Regards Liam

I believe that some changes in the way that IE8 handles things caused some problems for early 5.x versions of DotNetNuke. I believe that these have been resolved.

Hi i have upgraded my dnn install to the latest version but still get this problem with all of the HTML/text modules not appearing on certain pages of my website in Internet Explorer 8 only.
I have had my skin tested and uploaded to another server and it works fine,
Whats strange is that some pages using exactly the same skin display their content fine (the only difference being that they have a sub navigation module on these pages in addition to the html modules)
Whats even stranger is when i login and have the view option selected the modules appear but as soon as i log out they go, which suggests a permissions error, but my permissions are set correctly for all pages and modules hence no problems in other browsers.
I am aware that i can force IE8 into compatibility view but i would rather avoid that route if possible.
Has anyone encountered similar issues? can anyone point me in the right direction? i can provide the url and login details if required.
Many Thanks
Liam

Do the modules appear in compatibility mode?
