DnnAutoUpgrade 05.01.02 is a module that will backup your site and upgrade DotNetNuke for you! I haven't tried it, but Will Morgenweck of ActiveModule tweeted about it yesterday. He used this module to upgrade his ActiveSocial site in, he said, 20 minutes. The module rolls back in the event of errors, and also gives you a disaster recovery mode. All this for $80!

Our future plans are a little shocking: we plan to determine DNN upgrade errors and fix them automatically (without any action from user) with our module. Wow! Auto fix install errors as well? That's pretty ambitious. If you guys get that working, let me know. I'll be interested in it then! Thanks for letting us know about this!

Agreed that will be a fantastic addition. But ... I think that it's already a rather useful module! I particularly like the fact that you can use it to update a live site and, during the actual upgrade, visitors see an under-construction type of page.
