I have been shopping on SnowCovered for Skins and have noticed that many of the Skin Packes are W3C and CSS validated and many are NOT.

Is it considered a MUST to be W3C and CSS validated?

I found a Skin Pack I like but it is not W3C or CSS validated.
It does have commented CSS & Documentation.

The package is a DNN5 Skin # D003.
It is easy to find by just typing it in the search.

I like this pack but worry about the necessity of W3C and CSS validation.

Here is a nice explanation.

Starting with a skin that produces valid code is a great start.  You also need DotNetNuke and your modules to do the same.  I believe that DotNetNuke 5.2.1 with no modules added to a page produces valid code, or is close.  Older versions (4.x) do not.  That's easy to check.
