Newbie Q - menu at page bottom

The answer to this question is probably obvious, and the reason I didn't find anything in the forum on the topic. In DNN there is a horizontal menu at the bottom of the page. I am working with a skin that does not have this feature. Is the bottom menu a module? I have tried dropping a text/html menu into the footer and adding text, and linking the text in the FCK editor ( \|Home \| Next Page \| Next Page \|). This works ok, but the links are not dynamically spaced, and the addition of the text/html module in the footer makes the footer band very thick. I am thinking there must be another approach that everyone else learned on the day I was not in school. Thanks -DL
