Has anyone tried to go there in the last few hours?
3 hours ago it was very slow.
Now I just got "The requested site did not respond to a connection request and the browser has stopped waiting for a reply."

I just noticed a post from lee under announcements that said the site was slooooow yesterday. Anyone think that these are issues with 5.1? |

They have been "dogfooding" the release candidate for 5.1 on the DotNetNuke.com site, and it appears that there was a performance issue perhaps related to a new caching component used for high-volume sites and web farms. As of right now, the site seems to be performing ok. I have no idea if they fixed the problem, or if they reverted back to another version. |

Thanks Joe
Tried it out myself. Looking at the forums under the do(N)tnetnuke.com is unusable thread after getting through several pages of complaining Chris Hurse announced
"I think we have finally ironed out the issues - its been a long week.
But we are running 5.1 (Build 739)"

Yes, it does look like they solved the problems.
I guess when you decide to eat your own dog food, sometimes you will get food poisoning!
But, seriously, I believe that these issues are related to some fixes that they made to improve performance for high-volume sites, and DotNetNuke.com is a great place to go for high volume. With this fixed, I hope that we can all see better performance.
It also means that we are getting closer to 5.1.0.

I'm using Firefox and up until about 15 minutes ago I couldn't do anything on the site. However as I write this, the site is back to a decent performance. Don;t know what has been going on today? |
