Hello

I have uploaded a skin to my DNN-website, but I want to make som changes. I have made some changes in the code for example deleted a pane and put a banner in one of the bannerpanes by writing new cod to have this done. But after building the solution none of the changes are visible on my localhost website.

Uploading the skin is easy and is done in a few minutes, but all the changes that I make for example in the skin.css file or in a htm file doesn't show.


How do I get the new changes to show on my website?

do you have a tutorial that shows this?

what could be wrong?

I'm assuming that the changes you made were to an HTML version of a skin. In that case, you need to go to the Skins page and "parse" the affected skin package, assuming that you just uploaded files, rather than reinstalling the skin through the administrative page.

If you look at the skinning tutorials in Issue no 5 and 6 they walk you through setting up a working environment for creating skins and the method I use for quickly editing and uploading the changes to DotNetNuke.

OK Lee I have reviewed them and everything was going great, but now I have a new problem. I seem to have a large white space above my topbanner, I have a logo above the topbanner, but none of them is showing when I run my VS Project(F5) all I have is a large white space with the DotNetNuke logo on it...

Is there anyone who knows what could have gone wrong?

Do I need to create a table with a bannerpane to show my logo?
Everything looks great in Visual Studio, everything is in its place, but when I run it it just gets weird.

I'm a little confused with what you are trying to achieve, I have installed the files as a skin and can see the DNN logo and a space to the right of this which should be an image, looking at the code this is:

Do you wish to completely replace the DNN logo? - if you do and you are using the [LOGO] token, this is set in your admin menu/site settings.

If you do not wish to display any logo and your logo is actually bildstad.jpg then remove the [LOGO] token.

I did as you said and the white space is gone thanks

But the picture that I put in the css-file BannerPane doesn't show, instead the original picture still shows up. How can I change so that my new picture is shown?

Hello,

You need to make sure you have entered the correct URL for the image. A good test is to enter the full URL into a browser window and check that the image loads up into a browser window. Once you have confirmed the image is correctly uploaded, you can then enter the correct URL into your skin.

If you are using the LOGO token, the image for this is set in the admin menu / site settings
