For those interested, the first official Beta version of DotNetNuke 6.0 is available. Download and test it from DotNetNuke.com. DON'T use it in productions ... |

I just watched the last session. The one that was supposed to show us the new html editor. This is a quite important and much used feature of DNN. This preview was way too short. Only a single feature was covered. The ability to configure the toolbars. I was looking forward to hearing much more about the new editor, for example: How well does it handle tables, code inserts, how does it do when inserting images? Does it bog down on full image directories? does it find images recently added through FTP any better than the other editors? Does it keep adding html codes into the document and do a poor job of clearing out unneeded or superseded formatting codes? Can we limit the style or color or size choices available for text formatting? I keep thinking, did the video get cut off? Where is the rest of it...? Your videos are usually much, much more detail oriented than this. I have come to expect it.

I agree that the new HTML provider needs to be covered in detail. Now that Beta 2 is out and is near final code what I hear, it would be a good time to make some detailed videos on this. Possible topics -How to get a 5.x site to upgrade to 6.x and switch over to the new provider (this doesnt happen by default) -How to configure the module to display different toolbars and features to different roles and within different modules. I am sure it would be easy to dream up a slew of features and possibilities of this provider to cover. |

Hi guys, Thanks for your suggestions and sorry that you were disappointed with the coverage of the DNNWerk editor. We will look into creating a more specific tutorial once DNN6 is finally released. |

I wasnt dissapointed. As a "First look" its great. I am just giving you feedback that I think the DNN Werk topic is a very important one and should be on the list to Fully feature in a future magazine. |

For those of you interested in DotNetNuke 6.0, a Release Candidate has been posted to the download area at codeplex.com and is available from the Download link at DotNetNuke.com. Barring some major issues, I expect that 6.0 will be released in the next couple of weeks. There are lots of really nice new features in 6.0. They include speed, use of popups for some common functions like login, a greatly improved administrative interface, management of the Editor provider via a UI, and a very nice new default skin. If you install the RC and look at the new default website, I would encourage you to study it. You can learn a lot about "how to build a DotNetNuke" website by looking at the way that the content is constructed and styled. The site is done with ONLY the HTML module!

Video 2 seems to be missing audio. Anyone else having this problem? |

I don't know if it is just me but the just released videos looking at the Dark Knight skin only have audio at the very end of the tutorial. I have tried downloading both versions (wmv and flash) and they are both the same. |

Please try again. As of about 5 minutes ago, the videos have been repaired. I apologize for the inconvenience. |

I really don't like the look of the Dark Knight menus (both the mega and the standard). I do like the menu that is used for the Host Admin Modules Pages and Tools. Can anyone tell me if I could use this style of menu with the Dark Knight Skin?
