In this tutorial we demonstrate how to upgrade DotNetNuke using the auto merge method. This method is available when upgrading DotNetNuke versions 4.6.2 and above.
The auto merge method makes it much easier and quicker to upgrade DotNetNuke than versions below 4.6.2. If you need to upgrade DotNetNuke from below 4.6.2 you need to follow the tutorial on

This tutorial demonstrates the steps that are recommended for upgrading live DotNetNuke websites and in this example we upgrade DotNetNuke v4.6.2 to v4.9.1 and then v4.9.1 to v5.
