Subject: Sort order of Announcement posted same day

We are finding that when we post 3 Announcements on the same day; the sort order does appear to be displayed by Publish Date. It also appears that if sort order is added to these same Announcements, they are posted are inserted/posted further down in the currently posted Announcements, and still not in the correct order.

Example:

3 separate Announcements (A, B and C) are added with today's Publish Date with no sort order indicated on the Home page. The order displayed is A, C and B, not A, B and then C as expected.

If sort order is added (10, 20, and 30) with the same Publish Date, the same order is displayed, but are inserted between previously added Announcements.

We are on DNN Version 04.05.01. Is anyone else running into this?

Are you using the most recent version of the Announcements module? Generally, it won't be the same as the DotNetNuke version, but you can check on the Module Definitions page to see if there is an upgrade.

If no sort order is specified, then it's not surprising that you have no control over the order of appearance. The publish date simply determines whether or not an announcement is displayed, not the order. At least I think that's the way that it works.

If you use a sort order and other announcements appear interspersed, I'd guess that they might also have a sort order.

I believe that not adding a sort order is the same as setting it to zero.
